Escape with PanIQ NYC

Without a doubt, we all have our favorite crime scene investigation show. We’re infatuated by Hollywoods interpretation of the Perfect Crime; but, have you ever thought about stepping onto set and following in the footsteps of your favorites? Just one little catch, no script is provided and like most show creators, you won’t know the outcome. Oh, did I mention you’re locked in a room? Don’t panic, you only have to solve the mystery in order to escape.

Sounds fun, right? I thought so. I’ve always dreamt of having my own crime scene investigation show and this past weekend, I was able to experience a taste of it with PanIQ Escape Rooms NYC. Bringing along my mom, aunt and cousin, we all put our detective caps on and dove right in … so we thought. Not my brightest moment picking a level 5 for my first escape, but it was well worth the memories, laughs, scares and experience with my family. I have a little bit of an anxious edge and as we got down to the wire, well, lets just say I may or may not have freaked out (guilty as charged).


With less than five minutes on the clock, we were still trying to unlock our first key. Like I said, wasn’t my finest hour picking a level 5, but our host Rachel was kind enough to sneak in and help us unlock the key. On top of that, she generously provided us an extra 5 minutes on the clock. As you can tell by our lack of keys and no evidence of the killer, we didn’t escape. As we wrapped, Rachel came back in, the “script” was provided and we were walked step by step through the killing. I’m going to be honest, even if we unlocked the first key, I think that’s about all we would have accomplished. Rachel was saying that even the most equipped escapers don’t escape. I’m thinking my next “feature” will be a western; that Wild, Wild West is calling my name ;).
